When a Gumbwaal wants something, it anchors itself with its tail and grabs the thing with its sticky tongue. The tongue can stretch for quite some distance before the Gumbwaal finally has to let go.
Gumbwaal tongues are coated in a thin, sticky film. They show affection by licking, but they always leave an uncomfortably sticky residue on whatever they touch.
