Pokédex Entries

A Dauvespa's drill stinger is used to dig holes in the ground and to create loose earth for mud-making. Their broad forelimbs sculpt the mud into elaborate nests, as well as several decoy structures that divert enemies away from their young.

The mud pots and tubes that protect Dauvespa nests are strong and can withstand any weather. Potters and brickmakers keep trained Dauvespa around to provide quality clay and earth for their projects.

Name Origin

mud dauber + vespa, Latin for wasp
